Cook Full-time

Moravian Manor Communities is a premier not-for-profit senior living center that has been serving older adults for 50 years. We are currently seeking an experienced Cook who is looking for a rewarding career to join our Culinary Services team! This full-time position offers competitive pay, excellent benefits, and a flexible schedule—with no late nights. The Cook will be working on our Founders Campus 32 hours per week. The weekday schedule will be 11:00 am to 7:30 pm. Responsibilities of a Cook:

• Prepare and serve meals for residents and guests.
• Prepare all food items according to standard recipes and / or as specified on resident check to ensure consistency of product to the residents.
• Follow recipes, menu notes and production sheets accurately
• Prepare food in proper amount based on number of servings to be served
• Assist other cooks with prep and special functions
• Document finished cooking temperatures and temperatures of foods before leaving the kitchen
• Properly clean and sanitize work stations and tables.

Qualifications of a Cook

• 1-3 years of culinary experience
• Ability to work every OTHER weekend and holiday rotations
• Knowledge of all areas of production including soups, sauces, entrees, sides, and ability to produce some desserts.
• Ability to follow recipes and production guidelines
• Knowledge of all cooking equipment including proper use and care/cleaning/sanitizing of equipment and production areas
  
• Ability to work independently as well as with a team
• Knowledge of producing food items for specialized diets a plus.
• ServSafe certification preferred
