Controller/Driver
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Inventory Controller / Driver to join our food service team. This dual-role position is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory of food products and ensuring timely and safe delivery to our kitchen, event locations, or clients. The ideal candidate has experience in food handling, inventory management, and driving delivery routes with a strong focus on quality, safety, and service.
Key Responsibility:
Inventory Control:
- Monitor food and beverage stock levels and ensure freshness through proper rotation (FIFO).
- Perform regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Receive and inspect incoming deliveries for quality, quantity, and compliance with food safety standards.
- Organize and label products in dry storage, refrigeration, and freezer units.
- Track expiration dates and assist with waste minimization.
- Coordinate inventory needs with kitchen and purchasing staff.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in all storage areas.
- Use inventory software or systems to log and report inventory levels.
Driving & Delivery:
- Safely transport food and supplies between kitchen, storage, and client/event locations.
- Load and unload goods with care, ensuring temperature control and food safety.
- Follow assigned delivery routes and maintain an on-time schedule.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and road-ready delivery vehicle.
- Complete daily vehicle inspections and report issues promptly.
- Keep accurate delivery logs and obtain signatures as needed.
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients and team members.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in inventory management and delivery driving (preferably in food service).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of food safety and handling guidelines (ServSafe certification is a plus).
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in coolers or freezers as needed.
- Familiarity with inventory software or POS systems.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or in a team.
