💼 About the Role

As our Controller, you’ll serve as the financial cornerstone of Rebel Athletic. You’ll oversee day-to-day accounting operations while building the systems, controls, and insights that drive our strategic growth. This is a hands-on leadership position where you’ll roll up your sleeves, guide a talented team, and work directly with senior leaders to provide accurate reporting, strengthen compliance, and fuel financial performance.

You won’t just close the books—you’ll open the doors to smarter decision-making across the business.

What You’ll Do

📊 Oversee AP, AR, payroll, general ledger, and cash management activities
🧾 Lead accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes
📈 Prepare internal financial statements, reporting packages, and variance analyses
🔐 Implement and maintain internal controls and financial policies
📅 Coordinate and manage annual audit processes with external auditors
🤝 Collaborate across departments to improve data integrity and streamline workflows
⚙️ Identify and implement process improvements in close cycles and reconciliations
💻 Optimize accounting systems (NetSuite, FinancialForce, and other ERP tools)
📚 Maintain and document standard operating procedures (SOPs)
💡 Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and KPI reporting
🏦 Provide strategic insights and financial recommendations to company leadership

🎓 Who You Are

📚 Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred)
📆 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role
🏭 Experience in a product-based, high-volume, multi-entity environment preferred
📊 Deep understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting standards
💼 ERP expertise—NetSuite and FinancialForce experience a major plus
🧠 Strong analytical skills with sharp attention to detail and data accuracy
👥 Proven team leader who enjoys mentoring and coaching
🗣 Clear communicator with a collaborative, solutions-focused mindset
💡 Always thinking ahead—constantly seeking improvements and efficiencies
🧵 Bonus: Experience in fashion, consumer products, or inventory/cost accounting
