Position Description
We are seeking an experienced Controller (Chartered Professional Accountant) to assist in overseeing all financial aspects and operations of the group of companies. This is an upper management role and is pivotal in ensuring accurate financial tracking, reporting, and compliance. You will have the opportunity to be involved in deploying new systems and methods to improve performance of the business and help us achieve our goals. This is full-time, permanent, in-office position. Hours are Mon-Fri 8am-5pm. Salary commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities:
• Financial Statement preparation process (multiple companies)
• Monitor daily, weekly, monthly reporting requirements from satellite locations
• Assist with Inventory Management Systems operations
• Monitor cash requirements and assist with forecasting
• Oversee or prepare monthly and year-end working papers to support financial statements
• Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory data entry processes
• Perform financial analysis on a wide variety of information
• Training / mentoring staff both internal and satellite offices
• Prepare various reports for management team
• Financial and Margin Analysis
• Department and Project cost analysis
• Support IT initiatives in inventory and financial management
• Various other duties as assigned
Desired Skills and Experience:
• CPA designation (must have)
• Demonstrated leadership by example
• Fostering strong teamwork and excellent communication.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
• Five years’ of experience in an accounting role or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Computer proficiency in excel and accounting software
• Strong Analytical skills
