Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Community Relations, the Cree Human Resources Advisor plays a key role in supporting the recruitment, integration, development, and retention of Cree Beneficiaries within the organization.
The position will be based at the Band Council office of Waswanipi or may be performed remotely, on a standard 40-hour workweek, provided that this does not interfere with the fulfillment of the various mandates.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruitment and Workforce Development
• Source and identify potential Cree candidates for employment opportunities;
• Participate in interviews, candidate assessments, and hiring activities such as career fairs.
Training and Employee Support
• Assist the Human Resources Department in the development and delivery of any internal training programs and workforce integration programs to enhance the recruitment, retention, and professional development of Cree Beneficiaries;
• Support employee retention and professional development efforts.
Work Relations
• Participate in employee relations activities, including conflict resolution, and disciplinary processes.
Community Relations
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Cree communities and local stakeholders;
• Promote awareness of employment and training opportunities associated with the Project;
• Collaborate with educational institutions and vocational training centres.
Advisory Support
• Provide recommendations regarding Cree employment and training initiatives;
• Serve as an advisor to the Implementation Committee on matters related to employment and training.

Technical Competencies
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, etc.);
• Fluency in Cree and English is mandatory; proficiency in French is also required.
Required qualifications
• College diploma or University degree in a related field;
• An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience in human resources management may be considered;
• Class 5 driver’s license.
