Job Title: Communications Designer (Fund Development)
Hourly Rate: $17.50
Contract Term: 8-week term, starting May 2025
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week

Eligibility Criteria:
The candidate must meet the criteria below to qualify for roles funded by Canada Summer Jobs.
- The candidate must be between the ages of 15 and 30 at the beginning of the employment period.
- The candidate must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada
- The candidate must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment

Who We Are:
Heritage Park is Canada's largest living history museum and offers visitors a chance to experience life in Western Canada from the 1860s to the early 1950s. The park features historical buildings, costumed interpreters, working antiques, and various exhibits that provide insight into the region's past.
Responsibilities:
This is an ideal opportunity for candidates seeking to enter the field of fund development or non-profit management. Responsibilities for this position include:
- Collaborating with staff to implement a variety of fundraising strategies throughout all stages of the fundraising cycle (qualification, cultivation and solicitation)
- Evaluating grant opportunities and grant writing
- Support donor stewardship, including gathering and sharing stories of impact.
Required Qualifications:
- Must meet the Canada Summer Jobs eligibility criteria
- A passion for helping charitable organizations succeed by engaging the community for support
- Prior customer service experience is an asset
- Prior experience in administrative roles is an asset
- Excellent writing skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and experience with Raiser’s Edge is an asset
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- High level of integrity and trustworthiness in handling confidential organizational information
- Commitment to continuous learning and development
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills in a client-facing setting
- All successful candidates over the age of 18 will be required to go through a Police Information Check (Vulnerable Sector Screening if working with minors) as a condition of employment
