JOB OVERVIEW:

The Commercial Service Business Development Representative at SS&E is responsible for prospecting and generating new business and new client relationships for the company. Continually developing and growing the service maintenance base is critical to the long-term growth strategy and stability of the company. The Commercial Service Business Development Representative will be expected to produce a certain level of new business revenue in the form of service and maintenance agreements across differing trade targets through the effective use of business development practices in key target industry segments, including education, healthcare, and heavy industrial manufacturing, among others.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prospecting and cold-calling new business opportunities in key industry sector targets

• Attending various networking and industry events to generate contacts and prospect opportunities

• Visiting and reviewing facilities to record equipment counts and types

• Writing proposals and negotiating contracts with prospects to meet or exceed stated revenue targets

• Other duties as assigned to promote and ensure success of the company

SALARY

Base salary will range up to $100,000 with OTE ranging from $150k-$200k

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excellent interpersonal relationship skills

• Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

• Goal-oriented, organized team player

• Self-motivated and self-directed

• Excellent communication skills; must be a listener, a presenter, and a people-person

• Basic computer skills, and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on superior Excel and Word skills.

• Strong negotiation skills, with ability to follow-through on client contracts

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. This position will require site visits. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and/or hear. The employee occasionally is required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms.

TRAVEL

This position will travel multiple days each week to meet with customers and visit potential job sites. Regional travel may be required, including working at off-site promotional events, networking events and trade shows.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This employee must be available to work at least 8 hours each day, Monday through Friday, totaling a minimum of 40 hours each week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma, or equivalent • 1 to 3 years of related sales experience
