Position Description:
As an Insurance Producer, you will implement marketing strategies to develop a strong network of prospective clients. You will develop leads and contact them via phone and face-to-face to market insurance products. You will be responsible for building your book of business, servicing existing clients, and seeking opportunities to present products that enhance their insurance portfolio.
Primary Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
- Maintain current location book of business and roll into standard markets from excess and surplus where necessary.
- Achieve new business sales goals annually.
- Cross-selling between departments.
- Generate new business leads and appointments to include networking events.
- Complete quoting process using knowledge of SC markets and technical expertise to provide a solution prospect.
- Work collaboratively with the account management team to maximize results.
- Working knowledge of Applied EPIC system to support the marketing process, including input of accurate and timely information relative to the first meeting and quoting process.
- Stay current on industry standards through continuing education and industry news.
- Use leads to establish contact and schedule appointments.
- Meet with prospective clients.
- Meet with existing clients to perform annual reviews.
- Must conduct phone prospecting, face-to-face prospecting, and social media efforts.
- Conduct a sales presentation with the intent of selling an insurance product.
- Provide claim assistance to clients.
- Solicit referrals from clients.
Experience & Qualifications:
- College degree and/or one year of experience in commercial lines or equivalent education and related training.
- Thorough knowledge of commercial insurance and marketing processes.
- Strong verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Sales driven
- Must be licensed in the state
- Maintain Errors & Omissions Insurance
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Meet state continuing education requirements
- Ability to utilize computer programs and understand functionality.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Friendly and professional demeanor.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Above-average analytical skills to determine prospective client needs.
- Advanced knowledge or rating procedures, coverages, and industry operations to manage, maintain, and write assigned client and prospect lists effectively.
