Commercial Drywall Finisher
WORKSITES: 60-MILE RADIUS OF QUAKERTOWN (Tri-State Area, PA)
The Commercial Drywall Finisher is expected to apply finish, maintain, and restore plaster or similar materials on interior and exterior walls, ceilings, and building partitions.
Essential (Core Competencies) Duties
• Accurately measure height, width, length, and other proportions
• Assist in material take-offs to ensure proper material selection and quantity needed
• Read blueprints for proper finish schedule
• Selecting the appropriate variety of mud for the job
• Mixing mud to the proper consistency
• Caulking. Proper use of taping and finishing tools such as bazooka, stilts, boxes, pumps, rollers, hoppers, pans
• Applying finish up to level 5
• Sanding and touch-up for finish paint, Install beads and trim
• Always exercise the proper use of PPE
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
• Strong commitment to working safely
• 2+ years’ experience working as a drywall finisher in the commercial construction industry
• 1+ years’ experience utilizing commercial drywall taping and finishing tools.
Preferred Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma or GED
• 4+ years’ experience working as a drywall finisher in the commercial construction industry

Work Environment
Drywall Finishers work indoors and outdoors on many types of construction projects, with varying degrees of exposure to the elements. Title work indoors and outdoors on many types of construction projects, with varying degrees of exposure to the elements. This may include extreme heat (>85 degrees for longer than one hour), extreme cold (<32 degrees for longer than one hour), excessive humidity and noise. Some hazards may be present such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, toxic/ caustic chemicals, and slippery/ uneven walking surfaces.
Physical Requirements: Frequency:
• Due to the physical nature of the position, employee must have full dexterity of their hands and arms
• Employee must be able to see objects close and far away
• At times, multiple sounds can be heard as employee is working on job, employee must have the ability to focus on the sound in particular that is associated with the task they are completing. Employees with any sort of hearing impairment would not be considered fit for duty to perform this position
• Due to the safety sensitive nature of the position, at all times, employee must be fit for duty and not report to work under the influence of a mind altering or performance altering substance. At no time, should employee be found to be possessing or using a mind or performance altering substance while performing any Company task
