Commercial Development Representative
Location: Lanham, Maryland. Candidate will work a minimum of 3 days in Office
Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday 40 hour work week
Type: Contract-to-Hire
Salary: $50,000 / Annually
Reports To: CEO
The position will also require travel throughout the state.
Position Overview
The Commercial Development Representative will primarily focus on maintaining the traffic safety enforcement programs operating at the companies Maryland clients. Additionally, the Commercial Development Representative will work with management to identify the market opportunity and close business at new clients for traffic safety enforcement services (ALPR, speed, red light, parking and vehicle impounding).
This position will work with leadership, customer service, technical support and product development teams to meet client expectations. Presenting to and communicating with Councils, Mayors, Sheriffs, Chiefs and other client stakeholders will comprise a significant part of the job. Assisting with preparation of sample ordinances, contract negotiations, client training in the use of products and services, RFP responses, and working with local legal and lobbying resources are also key to this role. The Commercial Development Representative will form direct working relationships with local government and law enforcement officials in order to successfully manage complex client accounts.
This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and requires interfacing with personnel from all departments including business development, executive management, information technology, manufacturing, legal and operations in order to perform effectively in this high-profile role.
This position requires an individual who is self-motivated, persistent, confident, ethical, upbeat, inquisitive and has an outgoing personality. The candidate must be effective at setting priorities and following through. The candidate should have effective interpersonal and seasoned leadership skills, be a team player, and have the ability to address problems with a sense of urgency with an eye for detail.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Public Safety Leadership, or Equivalent experience
· A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible, recent experience as a certified law enforcement officer and or higher ranking official with sworn and non-sworn subordinates. Leadership level experience is preferred. Experience with public relations, community relations, community-oriented policing is also preferred.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
· Must maintain a valid Driver’s License through the duration of employment
· Must pass a Background Check
