Position Summary

The Code Welder is responsible for performing high-quality welding operations in accordance with ASME Section VIII Pressure Vessels and company standards. This role requires expertise in blueprint reading, welding techniques, and safety compliance. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with fabrication teams to ensure precision and efficiency in steel product manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

·       Interpret and weld according to blueprints, technical drawings, and welding codes.

·       Perform GMAW, FCAW, and SAW welding on various steel components.

·       Inspect welds for quality and compliance with specifications.

·       Maintain welding equipment and ensure proper setup and calibration.

·       Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.

·       Collaborate with fabrication and quality assurance teams to meet production goals.

·       Document work performed and report any issues or defects to the leadman and supervisor.

Qualifications

·       High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in welding preferred.

·       3+ years of experience in industrial welding, preferably in Pressure Vessel fabrication.

·       Proficiency in reading blueprints and welding symbols.

·       Knowledge of welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME).

·       Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

·       Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

·       Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions.
