CNC Router Operator
POSITION SUMMARY:
The CNC Router Operator is responsible for operating, programming, and maintaining CNC routing machines used in the fabrication of aircraft interior components. This role ensures parts are produced to precise specifications, supporting the craftsmanship and quality standards synonymous with Comlux’s VIP completions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Set up, program, and operate CNC routers to machine parts from composite panels, plastics, wood, or aluminum for aircraft interiors.

Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD/CAM files to ensure accurate production.

Verify part dimensions using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).

Maintain production documentation and ensure traceability in accordance with aerospace quality standards.

Perform routine maintenance and calibration of CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Collaborate with engineering, design, and interior fabrication teams to resolve technical issues or design modifications.

Follow Comlux safety procedures, quality standards, and EASA/FAA compliance requirements.
Support continuous improvement initiatives for machining efficiency, accuracy, and process reliability.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES, ETC:
1. High school diploma or GED, plus Proven experience as machinist
2. Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (CNC,
grinders etc.)
3. Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
4. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

High school diploma or GED.

Minimum 2–3 years of CNC machining experience, preferably in aerospace, automotive, or precision manufacturing.

Proficiency in G-code programming and use of CNC control software (e.g., Fanuc, Haas, or Onsrud systems).

Strong understanding of tooling, materials, and machining tolerances.

Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and technical drawings.

Attention to detail, manual dexterity, and a strong commitment to quality workmanship.
Preferred:

Experience with aircraft interior manufacturing or VIP completion environments.

Knowledge of CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks).

Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems.

FAA or EASA Part 145 maintenance experience is a plus.
