TST Fab & Machine are looking for a skilled CNC Machinist / Programmer who will be responsible for ensuring all customer products are to specific specifications and standards set forth by client orders. 

Ideal candidate would have:

·         Expertise in programming machine setup, machining applications, programming (g-code), process planning, precision measurement, inspection, print reading, cutting tool selection and assembly, machine maintenance and shop & personal safety.

·         Passion and commitment to provide mentorship and professional development to advance new machinists to ensure prosperity in the machining trade.

·         Excellent interpersonal skills and communication

Required Experience

-         Production of machined parts by programming and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine specifically lathes, vertical mills, and horizontal boring mills.

-         Use of CNC modules to design materials based on blueprints or programmed command sequences.

-         Modification of machines with attachments, fixtures, or specialized tooling to achieve different production capabilities.

-         Set up and maintain machine operations, lubricate workpieces, and replace dull cutting tools.

-         Monitor and adjustment of machine controls manually if programming proves inaccurate or machine is malfunctioning.

-         Preserve quality and safety standards by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. 

-         Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).

-         Programing mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.

-         Set-up of mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads.

-         Loading feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.

-         Verification of settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces, adhering to international standards.

-         Maintain specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.

-         Complete preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.

Documentation of actions by completing production and quality logs

Qualifications:

-         4+ years' experience working as CNC Machinist/Programmer

-         High school diploma, equivalent and/or post-secondary certification required

-         Expertise with CNC calculating, computer aided design (CAD), and computer aided manufacturing (CAM) software

-         Proficiency in SmartCam, MasterCam or equivalent offline machine programming applications
