Clinical Research Assistant
About the Role
Children’s Orthopaedic and Scoliosis Surgery Associates (COSSA) is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Clinical Research Assistant to join our pediatric orthopedic research team. This is a full-time position primarily onsite at our St. Petersburg and Tampa clinics, with occasional travel between locations. The role offers significant hands-on experience supporting physician-led research and is ideal for individuals interested in clinical research.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in developing research protocols, preparing IRB materials, and ensuring compliance with institutional and federal regulations.

Guide patients and families through informed consent and educate them on study participation.

Collect, enter, and manage clinical research data; perform descriptive statistics and prepare materials for publication.

Support preparation and editing of abstracts, presentations, and manuscripts.

Coordinate with physicians, mid-level providers, and staff to maintain protocol compliance and study integrity.

Maintain accurate and organized study documentation and participate in research meetings and audits.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a health-related or science field (e.g., Nursing, Clinical Research, Biological Sciences).

Strong interest in clinical research and pediatric healthcare.

Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and research data systems (e.g., REDCap, SPSS).

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between sites.

Experience in a clinical or research environment preferred but not required.

Work Environment
