About the Role

Children’s Orthopaedic and Scoliosis Surgery Associates (COSSA) is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Clinical Research Assistant to join our pediatric orthopedic research team. This is a full-time position primarily onsite at our St. Petersburg and Tampa clinics, with occasional travel between locations. The role offers significant hands-on experience supporting physician-led research and is ideal for individuals interested in clinical research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing research protocols, preparing IRB materials, and ensuring compliance with institutional and federal regulations.

  • Guide patients and families through informed consent and educate them on study participation.

  • Collect, enter, and manage clinical research data; perform descriptive statistics and prepare materials for publication.

  • Support preparation and editing of abstracts, presentations, and manuscripts.

  • Coordinate with physicians, mid-level providers, and staff to maintain protocol compliance and study integrity.

  • Maintain accurate and organized study documentation and participate in research meetings and audits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health-related or science field (e.g., Nursing, Clinical Research, Biological Sciences).

  • Strong interest in clinical research and pediatric healthcare.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and research data systems (e.g., REDCap, SPSS).

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between sites.

  • Experience in a clinical or research environment preferred but not required.
