Accounting Services Supervisor
We are seeking a Supervisor to join our Client Accounting + Advisory Services team in Baton Rouge, LA! This individual will oversee our accounting services (AS) by leading our internal bookkeeping team and acting as the liaison between clients and team members. This individual will support the firm by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Manage and maintain Botkeeper clients, relationship and billing
- Assign, manage and train interns and new staff on recurring AS work
- Review monthly/quarterly work including sales tax, bookkeeping and payroll quarterlies
- Communicate with management regularly on status of staff and software relationship
- Meet and consult with tax and new/other offices on new clients for AS work
- Verifies and enters details of transactions as they occur in a computerized accounting system
- Reconciles and balances accounts, including cash, AP, AR and credit cards
- Prepares or reviews sales tax returns for various states, parishes, and counties
- Prepares or reviews bank reconciliations monthly
- Compiles reports to show statistics such as cash receipts and expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, profit and loss, and other items pertinent to operation of business
- Researches accounts payable and accounts receivable issues as needed
- Prepares or reviews monthly workpapers and financial statements for clients
- Tracks overdue client accounts, and performs collection efforts as requested by partners and managers
- Has the ability to assist clients at client location if needed
- Has the ability to analyze general ledger accounts and recommend adjustments as needed
- Develops in-house CPE training sessions
- Trains seasonal interns and delegates work
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This job has some supervisory responsibilities, including the training, monitoring, and mentoring of interns, staff and seniors.
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting from four-year college or university; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Karbon, Microsoft Office, Payroll Systems, and more.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- CPA and QuickBooks Pro Advisor Certification preferred but not required.
