Position:             Cleanroom Janitor (Day Shift)

Location:            Camas, WA

 

GENERAL PURPOSE

The Cleanroom Janitor is responsible for ensuring that cleanroom facilities meet the stringent cleanliness and contamination control requirements of the industry. They play a critical role in maintaining a clean and controlled environment to support the production and research processes conducted within cleanrooms.

DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Cleaning and Sanitization:
    • Perform thorough cleaning and sanitization of cleanroom areas, including floors, walls, ceilings, equipment, and surfaces.
    • Use approved cleaning agents and follow established cleaning procedures to minimize the risk of contamination.
    • Ensure that all cleaning activities are performed in compliance with cleanroom standards and protocols.

  • Waste Management
    • Collect, segregate, and dispose of waste materials generated within the cleanroom in accordance with waste disposal guidelines.
    • Manage hazardous waste materials safely and in compliance with relevant regulations.

  • Gowning and Entry Procedures
    • Monitor and enforce strict gowning procedures for personnel entering the cleanroom.
    • Ensure that personnel are properly attired in cleanroom-appropriate attire, including gowns, gloves, masks, and hairnets.

  • Equipment and Supplies:
    • Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment necessary for cleanroom maintenance.
    • Report any issues with cleaning equipment or supplies and assist in their replacement or repair.

  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, waste disposal, and any deviations from established cleaning protocols.
    • Report any maintenance or repair needs within the cleanroom.

  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to safety protocols and follow cleanroom-specific safety procedures.
    • Comply with industry regulations, quality standards, and company policies related to cleanliness and contamination control.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The following are the minimum qualifications that an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position: must be detail oriented and a team player

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience as Janitor, preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.


SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
  • Detail-oriented and thorough.
  • Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance.
  • Ability to keep work area clean and orderly.
  • Ability to interact with staff, visitors, and employees at work job site while remaining professional, polite, and courteous.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  Reasonable accommodation(s) may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the functions.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit.  The employee is frequently required to walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.  The employee is occasionally required to stand. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
