Class 3 Driver - $1000 Signing Bonus

We are currently looking for Class 3 drivers to join our Nanaimo Curbside Waste Collection Team to drive a recycle/garbage truck through the neighborhoods providing the waste collection in our communities. A local, family-owned business, Adams Heavy Duty Contracting has been operating across Canada since 2005. What will your day look like?

• Safe and efficient operation of a Class 3 recycle/garbage truck (with air brakes)
• Conduct all activities in accordance with the collection schedule
• Collect garbage/recycling/yard waste from residential neighbourhoods, apartment buildings, businesses, and other facilities
• Work safely in accordance with WorkSafeBC and company policies
• Conduct daily inspection of vehicle and accurately complete related documentation
• Communicate with supervisor regarding concerns or suggestions
• Dispose of curbside collections according to set policies and procedures at the designated disposal sites.

What do we need from you?

• Class 3 drivers license with air brake endorsement
• Clean driving record (abstract required)
• Minimum 1 year experience driving Class 3 vehicles
• Safety minded approach to the daily tasks
• Ability to work outdoors and safely lift up to 50lbs
• Customer service and public interaction skills – written and verbal
• Ability to pass a criminal record check and drug/alcohol test
• Reliability, dedicated and team minded

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Wage: $25.60/Hr to start

             $28.33/Hr plus $3.50/Hr for the incentive program after probation of 3 months is over

            Fully paid benefits after probation.

           $1000 hire bonus to be paid out after passing probation.
