This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the planning and execution of innovative fiber network builds that keep communities connected and thriving.

About the Role:
Reporting to the Manager, Design & Engineering, the Civil Planner plays a key role in developing and managing project plans for our fiber network. You’ll collaborate with various departments to ensure project timelines, design standards, and construction requirements are met for new service development, network planning, and implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create cable design plans, site plans (civil), and construction drawings for new fiber builds and upgrades, including FTTH and MDU projects.
• Draft municipal consent civil drawings with applicable cross-sections, aerial/underground scenarios, and routing that considers permit approval success.
• Prepare fiber cable design plans and site layouts for residential and commercial builds.
• Conduct site meetings and collaborate with internal designers and surveyors.
• Attend project meetings to discuss scope, planning strategies, and timelines.
• Develop detailed construction notes, materials lists, and labor task estimates.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable Health & Safety legislation and company policies.

What You Bring to the Table:

• High school diploma; relevant certifications in technology, project management, or planning are an asset.
• Experience in telecom or utility planning, construction, and administration.
• Proficiency with Vetro, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and related software.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage internal and external project teams.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize shifting deadlines, and maintain high attention to detail.
• Self-motivated, solution-oriented, and quality-focused.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is required.
