Civil Engineering Intern

We are looking for a Civil Engineering Intern to join our Joplin team.
Responsibilities may include:
- Assist with permit applications by gathering necessary information, completing required forms, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Contribute to the planning phase of projects by conducting research, gathering data, and providing support in developing project plans.
- Collaborate with the team in the design process, utilizing software tools such as AutoCAD to create detailed drawings and layouts.
- Assist in performing calculations related to project specifications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to engineering standards.
- Contribute to the preparation of various documents, including reports, project proposals, and technical specifications.
- Aid in estimating quantities and construction costs by analyzing project requirements and applying industry-standard methods.
- Support the team in conducting research and preparing reports and studies on relevant engineering topics.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in an ABET accredited university, pursuing a degree in Engineering with a focus on the relevant field.
- Demonstrated progress towards graduating with an Engineering Degree, reflecting a strong academic background and commitment to the field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google applications, with the ability to effectively use these tools for data analysis, documentation, and communication.
- Basic understanding of ergonomics and safety principles in engineering practices, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Basic technical and design skills, including proficiency in AutoCAD or similar software for creating accurate and detailed engineering drawings.
- Successful completion of civil engineering classes within a degree program, showcasing a solid foundation in engineering principles and concepts.
