Salary Range: $180,000 – $220,000

As CEO, you will report directly to the Grand Traverse County Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Board and ensure that every aspect of our service—from skilled nursing operations to fundraising initiatives—aligns with our mission, vision, and values. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Vision & Leadership
- Craft and execute forward-thinking strategies to enhance our senior living and healthcare services.
- Partner closely with department directors to align operations with organizational goals.
- Stay ahead of healthcare trends and regulatory changes to maintain a competitive edge.
Operational Oversight
- Collaborate with the Medical Care Facility Administrator, who manages day-to-day skilled nursing operations.
- Provide leadership for shared services teams (Finance, HR, IT, Administrative Services) to optimize efficiency and compliance.
- Oversee The Cottages (Assisted Living), Independent Living, and inpatient/outpatient therapy services.
Board & Community Engagement
- Act as the primary liaison to the DHHS Board, delivering regular updates on strategic initiatives, financials, and performance.
- Cultivate strong relationships with community partners, local government, donors, and other healthcare organizations.
Marketing & Fundraising
- Develop and guide marketing strategies to promote our programs and community impact.
- Support fundraising and philanthropic efforts in collaboration with the Grand Traverse Pavilions Foundation, Inc.
Fiscal Accountability
- Direct the development and monitoring of operating/capital budgets to ensure financial sustainability.
- Manage reimbursement models, negotiate union contracts (with Board approval), and oversee risk management programs.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, including Michigan’s Open Meetings Act.
- Present Board matters in a timely manner, offering transparency and informed decision-making.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or Public Administration.
- Licensure: Nursing Home Administrator License (preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership in healthcare, senior living (preferred), or related fields, with demonstrated success in strategic planning, operational management, and board governance.
- Leadership & Communication: Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership abilities, including the capacity to develop and lead high-performing teams.
- Financial Acumen: Proven experience in financial management, budgeting, and reimbursement models within a healthcare or long-term care setting.
- Community-Focused: Demonstrated ability to cultivate strong relationships with community stakeholders, donors, and public officials.
