Chef / Line Cook

_ The Gourmet Gang is a local Gourmet Bistro & Full Service Event Catering Company that has been in business for more than 20 years.
We are currently seeking a Working Chef that is passionate and is tired of long nights & weekends.
"Chef " Job Description:
-Initiates food service preparations and catering for special events.
-Leads kitchen staff in the absence of a supervisor.
-Ensures that the kitchen conforms to local health department codes.
-Assists in the development, planning, and implementation of kitchen / catering operations.
-Standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality.
-Oversee special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction and/or demonstrates culinary techniques.
-Ensures that requirements for appropriate sanitation and safety levels in respective areas are met.
Requirements:
-Respects co-workers and their unique contributions to our team.
-Perfectionist when it comes to details associated with the event planning and execution.
-Experience in mass production.
-Prefer someone with 5+ years with food service experience in an institutional or catering setting.
-Ability to stand 90% of the time.
-Knowledge of Vegan, Vegetarian and Raw foods a plus but not required.
-Ability to lead a team with a positive can do attitude.
-Professionalism in appearance as well as demeanor.
-Kind in nature.
-Friendly personality.
