Position Summary:
The Instructor's role is to provide instruction and supervision to students in both clinical and didactic education settings, and may also involve delivering professional formal classroom instructions and demonstrations.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain an understanding of program goals.
- Comprehend clinical objectives and the evaluation system.
- Execute teaching assignments for both clinical and didactic applications.
- Supervise and educate students in clinical and didactic settings.
- Evaluate the progress of students in clinical and didactic applications.
- Maintain performance records for each student.
- Check attendance of students in clinical and didactic settings.
- Conduct competency evaluations of students.
- Prepare and deliver reports on all students, either orally or in writing.
- Stay updated on the professional discipline and educational methodologies through continuous professional development.
- Serve as an active member of the Faculty Organization Committee.
Requirements:
- Within the last five (5) years, a minimum of three (3) years of experience in either operating room settings or teaching in the field.
- Throughout the entire work history, a minimum of two (2) years of occupational experience.
- High School Diploma required; Accredited Surgical Technology Program Certificate required, with an Associates Degree or higher preferred.
- Current CST certification; BPSS Teacher License preferred.
