Who we are looking for

We are seeking a talented individual who shares our focus and dedication for those we serve and support.  This is a role that is key for direct service delivery within the Community Supports Team Service area and designed to truly make a difference in the lives of the families that are served, improving the quality of life and connection to community.  

Areas we serve

We currently offer Community Supports Team Services with travel required throughout the counties specific to that office location in which you are hired

What you will do

The Community Supports Team Certified Peer Support Specialist under the supervision of the Team Lead; is a crucial team member providing therapeutic support services to members and their families to aide in improving their overall quality of life and decrease symptoms that would require a higher level of care.  You will be working with the members within a clinical capacity by providing support to their therapeutic interventions and activities that will make meaningful impact on the lives of those members.  You will be assisting in coaching, mentoring and consulting the member and encouraging recovery along with self-advocacy.  By collaboration in the Person Centered Plan, you will be assisting the member through the continuum of care by promoting wellness management and recovery strategies.  This will include minimizing the negative effects of psychiatric symptoms or substance dependence that have interfered with the members daily living and development within the community.  You will act as a model and mentor for the members making impact on their overall lives and recovery.  

Additionally you will have the opportunity to work autonomously with your existing team and team leader, empowering yourself to further professional development. This will occur through your connections to community engagement while working in collaboration with various behavioral health resources.   You will also assist the members and their families during times of crisis in a clinically appropriate manner, while reinforcing specific interventions that will allow for growth of independence and success.      

Qualifications to join a winning team

If you are ready to make a difference in the lives of those within the Community Support Team we encourage you to apply if you are

  • Completion of DHHS approved training course with a minimum of 40 hours.
  • Obtain a personal recommendation completing the certification process with minimum of one (1) year demonstrated recovery
  • Minimum credentialed as a Paraprofessional

Preferred Certification/License: CCAS, CCS,CSI or CSAC
