A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CNA
Performs resident care activities and related non professional nursing services under the direction of the Supervisor to provide quality care of residents.
- DUTIES include but not limited to:
- Providing individualized attention and nursing care in accordance with resident care plan which includes communication, assistance with grooming, bathing, oral appliances, transferring, ambulation, and range of motion, as appropriate.
- Observes and reports changes in resident conditions to Supervisor
- Performs tasks assigned by Supervisor including vital signs, weights, applying non prescription creams/ointments, and collecting specimens.
- Escorts residents to dining room, assists with feeding and verifies meal consumption
- Maintains clean, neat and organized work environment
- Protects the personal belongings of each resident
- Answers call lights promptly and courteously
- Escorts residents to appointments, including beauty shop, activities, church services, and participates in activities and functions as directed
- Documentation
- Participates in the training and orientation of new staff by demonstrating a positive, helpful, and enthusiastic attitude
- Identifies and appropriately responds to potential and/or actual behavioral outbursts.
Standard requirements/Qualifications:
1. Supports the Mission, Values and Vision of the facility.
2. Adheres to confidentiality of all data.
3. Active Alabama State Certified Nursing Assistant Registry
4. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
