Certified Nurse Assistant - PRN
Provides direct care to residents, treating each with dignity and respect while promoting independence, yet meeting their individual needs in a caring atmosphere.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Know and practice Resident's rights and exhibit attitudes and behaviors that indicate respect for them.
Demonstrate a caring attitude in all interactions with residents.
Administer nursing care to residents according to the policies and procedures when transferring or ambulating residents.
Maintain a therapeutic environment for all residents; promote and encourage independence.
Provide assistance with medication reminders, bathing, grooming, dressing, escort service, laundry and other activities of daily living.
Works effectively as a team member in the delivery of care and assists in the orientation of new employees.
Promptly answers patient's call lights and requests.
Instills confidence in the patient by maintaining a neat and attractive appearance and performing duties in a competent and caring manner.
Maintain good working relations among all nursing unit personnel and other hospital employees through appropriate communication.
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor toward residents, visitors, families, and co-workers.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school education or GED preferred.
Must be CNA certified when hired or take CNA course by the time employed four months.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be able to read, write and speak fluently in English.
Must be able to deal with residents and families in a pleasant and supportive manner and must be able to work effectively with fellow employees.
