The Certified Medical Technician/Administrative Assistant maintains the health and safety of students by administering medications, performing basic medical procedures, and assisting in health screenings and emergencies as well as providing essential administrative and clerical support to the Annapolis Lower School office.

This role involves interacting with students, parents, faculty/staff, requiring excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities: 

·       Administer prescribed medications and treatments to students according to physician’s orders and school protocols.

·       Document all medical procedures, medication administration, and student health concerns accurately.

·       Monitor students for signs of illness or injury and provide first aid as needed.

·       Maintain health records and confidentiality of student health records in Magnus.

·       Maintain cleanliness and inventory of the health office, including medical supplies and equipment.

·       Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student health issues.

·       Assist during emergency situations, including CPR or use of AED, if certified.

·       Greet and assist visitors, students, and staff in a courteous and professional manner.

·       Maintain raptor protocols for visitors.

·       Answer and route incoming phone calls; take messages as needed.

·       Manage daily attendance and emails.

·       Maintain student files.

·       As requested, send transcripts to other schools.

·       Assign and update classes in Veracross.

·       Manage all field trips through Magnus and perform background checks via Protect My Ministry.

·       Manage Square payments.

·       Maintain Lost and Found and AACS merchandise.

Education & Certification

  • High School Diploma
  • Certified Medical Technician (CMT) certification
    • May include completion of an accredited medical technician program
    • CPR/First Aid certification required
  • Administrative Experience

Experience

  • 1–2 years of clinical experience as a medical technician is preferred
  • Clerical or administrative experience in a medical or office environment is preferred
  • Familiarity with Magnus and Veracross is a plus
