Certified Medical Professionals
The Medical Professional position is a client-centered position supporting the overall healthcare needs of the clients ensuring that all medications are properly handled by the clients who require medication as ordered by his or her physician. The Medical Professional will also participate in the delivery of client care in accordance with facility clinical procedures, regulatory requirements, and physician orders. They are responsible for ensuring that the highest quality services are delivered in a customer-service-friendly environment.
All employment positions are expected of the following:
1. Serves and protects Christ-Centered Ministries / Restoration Reentry Residence practices by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, fedral, state and local requirements;
2. Maintains accurate documentation of service objectives and outcomes as well as other services in accordance with Federal, State, County and Christ-Centered Ministries / Restoration Reentry Residence guidelines;
3. Secures client infromation and maintains client confidence by completing and safeguarding data; keeping client information confidential and in compliance with HIPAA standards;
4. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work enviroment by establishing and following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations;
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Provides services including: administration and or observation of medications and injections to clients as directed by the providers; injectable medication; referrals to other providers and community health resources; and health instruction to clients or following examinations.
· Observe patients, charting and reporting changes in patient’s conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and taking any necessary action.
· Oversees the smooth progression of daily client medical related schedules, monitors client flow and assists with medical requests from supervisior.
· Documents client’s current medication list, including name(s) of medications, dosages, frequency, duration and start date. Administer and/or observe medication and treatment as prescribed through written Provider orders, and notes procedure in chart. Is accountable for own errors in the administration and or observation of medications and treatment, and will be subject to established disciplinary measures in this regard.
· Assists and cares for clients, providing personal assistance, medical attention, and emotional support.
· Monitors processes, materials, and surroundings, reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
· Knowledge of Substance abuse disorder and Co-Occurring Condition’s.
· Perform inventory check and request supplies/instruments as needed.
· Conduct client rounds as scheduled or required.
· Evaluates data to determine compliance using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
· Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and other federal, state and local regulations.
· Support and upholds CCM’s mission statement and philosophies.
· Attends trainings, workshops and staff meetings as scheduled.
· Must provide proof of being COVID-19 fully vaccinated with a booster shot, prior to start date.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES DESIRED
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
· Current, valid License and/or Certifications
· Valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Card (CPR)
· Minimum one-year experience as RN/LVN/VN/CNA/EMT/MA, in an outpatient environment preferred.
· Strong knowledge of substance abuse and relapse prevention, mental health issues, and domestic violence is preferred;
· Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and disabilities. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures;
· Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders;
· Solid understanding of clinical operations and regulatory compliance
· Must be proficient in the following computer applications: Microsoft Word and Excel;
· Must have a valid CA driver license, have reliable transportation and a good driving record;
· Bilingual (Spanish/English) highly desirable.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
There is some walking, bending, and kneeling. Must be able to participate in moderate lifting of 30 or more pounds (suitcases, packages, etc.). This position must be able to support client weight in case of emergency situation or client disability requiring assistance in walking, etc. There is a risk of exposure to bodily fluids infections, contagious / blood borne diseases, and chemicals (cleaning agents), an exposed risk to varying, unpredictable situations (i.e. client behavior).
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES DESIRED:
· Excellent skills at a level necessary for taking client’s medical histories, understanding provider and supervisor instructions, and for accurately documenting client’s medical information. Ability to effectively communicate with clients and staff while demonstrating a high degree of diplomacy and tact;
· Multicultural competency helpful;
· Ability to work within a dynamic environment serving the homeless community;
· Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure to timely client flow;
· Consistently contribute to Christ-Centered Ministries / Restoration Reentry Residence program developments and produce high quality results on time;
· Team player who enjoys a fast paced environment and operates effectively at all levels;
· Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and cope effectively with ambiguity;
· Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to present persuasively.
