Position Summary  

The MA/LVN/RN is a key member of the clinical care team, responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in support of providers and overall practice operations. The MA/LVN/RN ensures a safe, efficient, and compassionate environment that supports positive patient experiences and contributes to the overall effectiveness of the care team. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Medical Assistant Certification, License in Vocational Nursing, License in Registered Nursing 

  • If MA, in lieu of certification, Two (2)+ years working as a non certified medical assistant with relevant job duties 

  • Active BLS CPR Certification required 

  • One (1)+ years of back office clinical experience preferred 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare exam rooms and assist in patient flow to ensure efficient visit schedules 

  • Obtain and document vital signs, patient histories, chief complaints, and screenings in the EHR 

  • Administer medications, injections, immunizations, and treatments as ordered by providers 

  • Assist or perform minor in-office procedures and specimen collection such as, bandage/splint/sling application, venipunctures, heel/finger pokes, caths, neb/albuterol txs, ear lavage, etc. 

  • Administer and document IM, SQ, ID, NS, PO, PR, Eye, Ear, Topical meds as ordered by providers 

  • Administer and document immunizations in EHR and Immtrac registry maintenance 

  • Monitor and report changes in patient condition to providers or supervising staff 

  • Ensure proper labeling, handling, and documentation of laboratory and diagnostic tests 

  • Provide patient instruction regarding medications, procedures, follow-up care, and health maintenance 

  • Ensure patients feel informed, comfortable, and supported throughout their visit 

  • Support chronic disease management and patient education initiatives 

  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) 

  • Manage clinical inventory, restock supplies, and ensure proper equipment sterilization and safety 

  • Conduct and accurately document telephone triage, including patient guidance, prescription refill requests, message-taking, and call routing utilizing Clear Triage Barton Schmitt protocols 

  • Perform and document follow-up phone calls and progress checks as ordered by the provider 

  • Process & document forms (e.g. school forms, letters, sports physicals, imm records)  

  • Maintain lab equipment (quality controls, quality assurance standards, cleaning) 

  • Stocking and organizing of all clinical areas (lab, patient exam rooms, vaccine area, med cabinet, supply closet) 

  • Adhere to infection control, HIPAA, and OSHA standards  

  • Participate in quality improvement, compliance, and continuing education initiatives 

  • Performs other duties as necessary or in the best interest of the organization
