We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) to oversee the daily operations of our food service department. Position Summary:

The Certified Dietary Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing all food service activities in accordance with facility policies, and federal, state, and local regulations. The CDM ensures food safety, dietary compliance, staff supervision, and overall quality of service in the dietary department.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct daily operations of the dietary department to ensure compliance and quality

  • Provide leadership and oversight to dietary staff

  • Maintain records of personnel, food inventory, equipment, and supplies

  • Ensure proper food preparation and delivery to meet resident dietary needs

  • Promote a safe, sanitary, and efficient kitchen environment

  • Manage modified diets and nutrition compliance

  • Coordinate coverage for dietary shifts and special events

  • Collaborate with nursing and administrative teams to support resident satisfaction


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Certified Dietary Manager credential – completion of an accredited CDM program and exam required

  • Minimum two years of food service experience (management experience preferred)

  • Skilled Nursing Facility experience is required

  • Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and dietary regulations

  • Familiarity with modified diets and nutritional standards

  • Ability to lift 20–25 lbs. frequently and 50–60 lbs. occasionally

  • Able to stand and walk for the majority of the shift

  • Must demonstrate leadership, professionalism, and the ability to work well with others

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including coverage for other roles and special events as needed

  • Must be able to meet all local health regulations and pass pre/post-employment screenings including drug testing and background checks

  • Must maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA and resident privacy regulations
