Painter
About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Painter to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing interior and exterior surfaces of buildings, structures, and equipment. This role plays an important part in preserving facility appearance, ensuring high-quality finishes, and maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, patching, masking, and priming. Apply paints, stains, varnishes, and other finishes to walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and various surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment. Match colors, mix paints, and ensure consistent and uniform application. Repair and refinish surfaces, including drywall patching, caulking, and sealing cracks or holes. Maintain painting tools and equipment; ensure materials are stored and labeled properly. Erect and dismantle scaffolding, ladders, and drop cloths safely as required for each project. Follow established safety procedures and maintain compliance with OSHA and facility safety standards. Collaborate with maintenance and facilities teams on renovation and improvement projects. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 2 years of professional painting experience in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. Knowledge of paint types, surface preparation methods, and finishing techniques. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and perform work at heights or in confined spaces. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Valid driver’s license preferred.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with airless sprayers and other specialized painting equipment. Familiarity with color theory and paint mixing. Basic drywall repair or plastering experience. Knowledge of EPA lead-safe work practices and VOC compliance standards.
