JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
Under the direction of the Summer Program Coordinator and OCC Director & Program Coordinator the Carbuncle Park Monitor will collect fees from visitors coming to use the beach area and splash pad. They will monitor the beach area and splash pad for safety hazards such as sharp objects, fallen tree limbs, etc. They may assist in emergency situations. They will provide information to visitors about the beach rules and regulations and assist with enforcement of those rules and regulations.
Responsibilities
The Carbuncle Park Monitor is responsible for:
•Safeguarding of beach and splash pad areas
•Assisting visitors with purchase of day and/or season passes
•Collection of fees
•Sale of concessions as needed.
•Support lifeguards and program counselors.
•Performance of daily opening and closing procedures for the Splash Pad, including attending to outdoor trash barrels.
•Maintain confidentiality of staff, visitors, and program participants
Supervisory Responsibility
None
Work Environment:
The work environment involves being outside working at freshwater lakes, exposed to inclement weather conditions and often with insufficient protection from the sun. Hazards may be presented by naturally occurring and continually changing conditions such as water temperature, debris, uneven sand.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Seasonal Part time. 12-25 hours per week, including weekends.

Required Education and Experience
•High school students with accurate math/money skills.
•Customer service oriented with the ability to adapt/respond to diverse types of people.
•Positive attitude- must enjoy working with/around children.
Work Authorization
