OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION:
The Camp Ridley Boarding Supervisor will ensure the successful execution of Camp Ridley Boarding, develop leadership opportunities for and capabilities in Boarding Life staff, organize staff scheduling, submit weekly timesheets, and supervise Camp Ridley Boarding Life staff.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Accountable for managing all Camp Ridley Boarding Life staff;
· Responsible for the on-boarding of all Camp Ridley Boarding Life staff and campers;
· Responsible for the annotated dissemination and recollection of keys and key cards;
· Provides guidance and leadership to Assistant Boarding Life Supervisor and Summer Boarding Life Staff to support the Programme;
· Lead Camp Ridley Boarding Staff Training
· Responsible for the accurate monitoring of student valuables, documents and money handed in for safe keeping;
· Distributes stored money and designated food money to campers prior to excursions;
· Organizes all boarder/staff dorm room assignments;
· Responsible for creating daily Boarding Life staff schedules;
· Monitors staff attendance and performance and mentors them for success;
· Submits accurate payroll timesheets;
· Organizes all files for boarder intake registration and exit days and acts as a liason for parents and agents;
· Greets families, provide informations and foster positive relationships on intake days;
· Responsible for boarder medication and works alongside the Health Centre staff to oversee the medical attention of boarder health issues
· Handles escalated camper behavior issues and works closely with the Asst. Camp Ridley Boarding Life Supervisor and Manager, Business Development, Camp Ridley l to achieve resolution;
· Files and stores all incident and accident reports and informs Program Leadership of these occurrences;
· Addresses concerns regarding maintenance and housekeeping and work closely with Aramark and Rentals to coordinate room assignments and cleaning requirements;
· Attends and supervises excursions;
· Leads weekly Summer Boarding Life Staff meetings and attends weekly Senior Staff meetings;
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:
June 22, 2025 to August 24, 2025, plus an additional week of prework,
Must live on campus. Housing and meals will be provided.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Post-secondary degree in a relevant field;
· Demonstrated knowledge and experience with international boarding, boarding facilities and boarding students;
· Knowledge and experience in Human Resource ‘best practices’;
· Valid CPR and First Aid Certification (training will be provided);
EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
· 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory role within a boarding or camp environment;
· Experience working with international students;
· Extensive experience working with children especially in a boarding camp environment;
· Excellent organizational and general management skills;
· Ability to work independently and to exercise initiative;
· Skilled people leader who can energize and develop individuals by taking a learner-centered approach that builds trust, encourages collaboration and promotes a growth mindset;
· Ability to enforce safety regulations and emergency procedures;
· Strong communication interpersonal skills;
· A sense of humour, self-control and a love for working with children;
· Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, students, and parents and resolve problems constructively and nimbly;
· Holds high standards of personal responsibility and professionalism;
· Mandatory participation in training June 23 to 27, 2025
