Customer Service Representative
Pro Disposal Inc. is a leading waste and recycling collection company serving Central Pennsylvania. We proudly operate in four regions—Portage, Johnstown, Altoona, and Philipsburg—providing essential services across eight counties. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Customer Service Representative (CSR) who is professional, well-spoken, and customer-focused to join our team.
This role is fast-paced and call-centric, handling an average of 70 calls per shift. The ideal candidate will be solutions-oriented, proactive, and able to handle customer inquiries efficiently while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Professionally handle a high volume of incoming and outgoing customer calls.
- Use active listening and effective communication to understand customer needs and provide accurate information.
- Deliver clear and helpful information to new customers.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by resolving inquiries, addressing concerns, and troubleshooting service issues.
- Inform customers about additional services when applicable.
- Work collaboratively with fellow CSRs and other departments to find the best solutions for customer concerns.
- Assist the collections department with outbound calls regarding overdue balances.
- Maintain accurate and detailed customer records in the company database.
- Demonstrate deductive reasoning and critical thinking skills to provide efficient resolutions.
- Perform repetitive tasks with accuracy while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
- Monitor and respond to customer inquiries via email and online portals in addition to phone calls.
- Ability to assist with or take on other tasks other than phone calls.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience handling inbound and outbound customer calls in a call center or related environment.
- 2+ years of experience in customer service and/or sales roles.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional phone presence.
- Excellent typing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to quickly learn and navigate customer management software.
- Strong multitasking skills—ability to handle multiple conversations, look up account information, and process requests efficiently.
- Ability to work independently while also functioning as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
