JM Test Systems is looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Calibration Technician to join our team located at Matton, IL. This role involves working in both a lab environment and field environment to perform calibrations, qualifications, and preventative maintenance on inspection, measurement, and test equipment (IM&TE). You’ll help ensure precision, safety, and compliance with top industry standards—all while delivering excellent customer service.

What You’ll Do:
- Perform calibration, adjustment, and verification of mechanical and digital pressure instruments, including analog pressure gauges, pressure transducers, and digital pressure meters.
- Conduct nitrogen pressure testing to verify instrument integrity and performance under specified pressure conditions.
- Calibrate and test torque tools and equipment such as torque wrenches, screwdrivers, and analyzers to ensure accuracy and conformance to manufacturer and industry standards.
- Perform dimensional inspections and calibrations on tools and instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and height gauges.
- Utilize appropriate standards and calibration equipment such as deadweight testers, pressure controllers, torque testers, and dimensional masters.
- Apply knowledge of electronic test equipment, such as multimeters and oscilloscopes, for basic troubleshooting and calibration of electrical and electronic components.
- Interpret and follow calibration procedures, technical manuals, and engineering drawings accurately.
- Accurately document all calibration activities, measurements, and adjustments in accordance with quality and accreditation standards (e.g., ISO 17025).
- Maintain thorough and organized notes, logs, and calibration records for audit readiness and traceability.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, team members, and occasionally customers regarding equipment status, issues, and results.
- Manage and track inventory of calibration tools, instruments, and consumables to ensure availability and proper storage.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, especially when working with pressurized systems and electrical components.
- Support process improvement initiatives and recommend enhancements to calibration workflows, tools, and documentation systems.
What we are looking for:
- High School Diploma or GED Required
- Familiarity with nitrogen pressure testing procedures and safety practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, datasheets, and calibration procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic issues an preform moderately complex tasks with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, or calibration software systems).
Preferred:
- Associate’s degree in Metrology, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related field.
- Experience with automated calibration systems or software (such as Fluke MET/TEAM or similar).
- Hands-on experience in repair, maintenance, calibration, or related technical field.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical and digital pressure measurement instruments.

Traveling Incentives:
- Technicians earn $2.00/hour additional pay when assigned to a project.
- Meal subsistence provided when traveling 50+ miles and away for 12+ hours.

Schedule:
- 40 hour work week
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime as needed
- Weekends as needed
