Position Summary:
Avail Staffing is seeking dependable and safety-conscious Cable Pullers to support electrical installation projects in a shipyard environment. The Cable Puller is responsible for assisting marine electricians by pulling, routing, and securing electrical cables aboard ships and marine vessels. This role plays a vital part in ensuring timely and accurate cable installations across a variety of shipboard systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pull, route, and secure electrical cables through bulkheads, overheads, and cable trays aboard ships
- Assist with the setup and organization of cable reels, pulleys, and pulling equipment
- Support electricians with cable identification, labeling, and termination prep
- Install cable supports, clamps, and penetrations as required
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while following safety and quality standards
- Ensure cables are protected from damage during installation
- Report any obstructions or issues that could impact routing or cable integrity
Qualifications:
- 0–2 years of experience in electrical or marine environments (shipyard experience preferred)
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Physically able to lift, pull, and work in confined spaces or elevated areas aboard ships
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, physically demanding environments
- Basic understanding of hand tools and safety procedures
- Must be able to obtain access credentials for shipyard entry.
