Reports to: Senior Manager : Sr Manager, Clinical Service & Operation
The Program Coordinator, TH is responsible for is responsible for providing point of care leadership to the front-line staff who support TH residents, and for the administrative and logistical operation of the program. The Program Coordinator plays a vital role in developing, implementing and evaluating strategic plans, goals, objectives and policies for the TH program.
- Works to ensure a safe, well maintained, and healthy building environment
- Review TH applications and conduct interviews.
- Assists staff in identifying and responding to problematic behaviors to ensure safety and a comfortable environment for residents
- Responsible for developing, planning, implementing and evaluating quality improvement projects such as evaluating residents, improving services and implementing new service strategies
- Facilitate/support case managers in meetings with clients when needed
- Effectively coordinates, supervises and is accountable for the daily operations of Program Assistants to ensure that operational quality requirements and standards of excellence are maintained
- Conducting monthly suite inspections, move in and move out inspection as required including suite packing where required.
- Supervises incoming and outgoing inspections and reporting
- Participates in data collection and outcome measurement, contributing to Manager’s report.
- Participate in case management and case planning providing oversight.
- Assists manager with program budget duties such as developing budget submissions, preparing, and presenting budget justifications and presentations, monitoring expenditures, following up on anomalies, and taking action to resolve challenges.
- Supports the manager by analyzing service data and community trends to identify emerging needs and priority issues. Develops reports and recommendations that inform departmental planning, contribute to organizational strategy, and guide resource allocation.
- Participates in CAA (community access table), funder meetings and community stakeholder committees as directed by manager.
- Manage BCH Portable Rent Subsidies
- Provide on-site support to reduce On-Call Manager calls
- Liaise with the clinical care team as needed
- Performs other duties as required
- Acts as a positive role model for clients. Teaches clients effective social and interpersonal skills through tasks of appropriate daily living and social activities
- Facilitate TH meetings for clients
- Oversight of safety plans/housing retention plans for clients
- Responds to client-related incidents
- Maintains a therapeutic environment following therapeutic community principles which encourage awareness of interdependence of community members, and the value of responsible concern for self and others
- Provides supervision, coaching and assistance to Program Assistants in the completion of daily operating tasks and routines in the TH Program
- Assigning and adjusting workload, schedules, and coordinating staff when coverage is needed, ensuring service levels, and staffing requirements are met
- Assists Management by attending panel interviews, providing recommendations on the selection of new Program Assistants, providing feedback to the Manager on performance appraisals for Program Assistants, and optimal use of budgetary resources
- Carries out administrative and financial tasks such as performing general timekeeping functions such as tracking hours worked, reviewing timesheets for accuracy and other duties related to supervising Program Assistants.
- Determines related training and orientation requirements
- Assigning and adjusting workload, schedules, and coordinating staff when coverage is needed, ensuring service levels, and staffing requirements are met
- Facilitates staff briefings and participates in shift handover.
- Act as representative of TH program in the OHS committee
- Performs other duties as required.

- Diploma in Community Social Service or equivalent
- Recent, related experience of two years in an admission setting working with vulnerable populations, substance use services, mental health, or corrections Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience Or other Qualifications determined to be reasonable and relevant to the level of work
- Satisfactory completion of a criminal records check with vulnerable sector screening is required
- Satisfactory completion of Tuberculosis Screening form is required
- Satisfactory completion of Employee Immunization Record form is required
- First aid certification with CPR is required
- Valid driver’s license is required
- Knowledge of the needs of people affected by substance use, concurrent disorders, criminal justice involvement and homelessness
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
- Ability to function independently while managing multiple tasks, and an ability to adapt to change is an ongoing expectation of this position
- Strong knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and database management systems
- Strong problem solving, analytical, and creative skills with the ability to exercise sound judgement and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
- Demonstrated strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to lead and work in a trauma-informed practice
