The position requires excellent communication skills - both written and verbal, along with the ability to support the F&B experience at PSSC. This is a full-time position required to work at the property. This position requires non-traditional working hours which includes working nights and weekends and holidays.

SUMMARY:

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Busser to join our team at The Palm Springs Surf Club. As a Busser, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive dining experience for our guests by ensuring that the dining area is clean, organized, and well-maintained. Your attention to detail and teamwork will contribute to the smooth flow of our restaurant operations.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in setting up the dining area before service, including arranging tables, chairs, and place settings.
  
  
• Greet guests with a friendly and welcoming demeanor as they arrive and depart from the restaurant.
  
  
• Clear and reset tables promptly after guests have finished their meals, ensuring a clean and inviting environment for new guests.
  
  
• Collect and stack dishes, glassware, and utensils for washing and assist in delivering them to the kitchen.
  
  
• Safely and efficiently transport used items to designated cleaning areas.
  
  
• Clean and sanitize tables, chairs, booths, and other dining area surfaces between guest turnovers.
  
  
• Maintain a clean and organized service station, stocking it with necessary supplies such as napkins, condiments, and utensils.
  
  
• Assist servers and other staff members as needed, including refilling water glasses, delivering bread baskets, and responding to guest requests.
  
  
• Monitor restrooms and maintain their cleanliness throughout service hours.
  
  
• Empty trash and recycling bins regularly and ensure proper disposal.
  
  
• Collaborate with the kitchen and waitstaff to ensure seamless communication and smooth service flow.
  
  
• Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation and hygiene practices.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
  
  
• Maintain a positive and professional attitude, contributing to a harmonious team atmosphere.
  
  
• Assist in cleaning and closing duties at the end of the shift.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Busser or in a similar position in the hospitality industry is a plus but not required.
  
  
• Strong communication skills to interact courteously with guests and colleagues.
  
  
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak dining hours.
  
  
• Attention to detail to ensure cleanliness and orderliness in the dining area.
  
  
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, and carry items for extended periods.
  
  
• Team-oriented mindset and willingness to support the front-of-house team.
  
  
• Ability to follow instructions and take direction from supervisors.
  
  
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.

Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
