Business Development Representative

The Business Development Representative is responsible for growing Benchmark Automation and Controls' presence in the DC and Northern Virginia area! This position focuses on identifying potential clients, nurturing relationships, and acquiring Service Contract Agreements. 

Main Responsibilities: 

• Manage and grow the HVAC Building Automation Controls accounts in DC and Northern Virginia through technical sales for new construction and retro-commissioning offerings
• Estimate, propose, and bid on DDC projects located within the DC and Northern Virginia market
• Foster and nurture relationships with General Contractors, Architects, Owners, and Mechanical Contracts in the DC and Northern Virginia market
• Ensure a smooth sales-to-operations transition and monitor progress
• Assist in resolving installation, collections, and other customer satisfaction issues as needed
• Prepares accurate and thorough sales activity reports, forecast reports, and expense tracking reports

Qualifications: 

• No degree necessary! 
• 3-5 years of experience in the Automation and Controls Industry 
• Proven track record of successful business development and sales achievements in the industry or related field 
• Strong understanding of service contracts 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical information to those not in the field
• Expereince with: BACnet, Modbus, LON, and IT protocols

Base Pay: $80,000 base salary with competitive commission structure
