Wolfgang Confectioners currently has an opening for Business Development Manager on our Customer Development team.

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying new B2B sales leads, sales opportunities, and new market segments. This role will exhibit Wolfgang Confectioners core values. They will have a working knowledge of Wolfgang Confectioners manufacturing capabilities to find business opportunities that create positive and successful partnerships. This role will be to work closely with the VP Customer Development to implement long-term marketing and sales strategies to increase gross revenue for the organization.

Key responsibilities:

              Qualify leads, identify prospective key decision makers and new business opportunities that lead to increased gross revenue and profitability.

              Meet with key prospects and/or clients, negotiate, and close deals as needed.

              Aid in gathering sales projections for finance and operations to adjust corporate strategies and goals.

              Cultivate customer and industry relationships by representing the company and its services at meetings and events.

              Identify new business opportunities and emerging brands/markets.

              Cultivate relationships for long term consideration for future capacity selling.

              Project ownership and management of new products through Wolfgang’s gate system to hand-off to the commercialization manager.

              Develop stability and trust with our customers through effective communication and project management skills.

              Manage marketing strategy through social media platforms to promote Wolfgang values, culture and business happenings.

              Works closely with the Customer Development team to keep all sales tools relevant and up to date.

              Drive improvement continuously in all processes via development and/or enhancement.

              Communicate effectively to the internal Wolfgang team all customer requirements, changes, and needs.

              Understand the basic requirements for current Wolfgang food safety certifications, including but not limited to, SQF, Non-GMO, Gluten Free, Rainforest Alliance, Vegan and all quality certification programs governing customer products.

              Develop a comprehensive understanding of allergens and balancing short shelf-life products.

              Complete all required training courses.

              Follow all Wolfgang Food Safety and Quality Policies.

              Work where needed to ensure business continuity.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

              Develop thorough knowledge of Wolfgang Confectioners current manufacturing methods, techniques, and related equipment.

              Develop thorough knowledge of Confectionery co-pack industry capabilities.

              Proficient ability to read, analyze, and interpret forecast, sales, and purchase order documents.

              A highly organized, initiative-taking individual who can work independently.

              Excellent oral and written communication skills.

              Excellent presentation skills

              Excellent people skills and analytical and problem-solving abilities.

              Ability to respond effectively to inquiries or complaints.

              Proficient in Microsoft Office; advanced Excel, PowerPoint and other presentation software a plus

              Highly adaptable to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and changing situations.

              Basic knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement initiatives

Education/Work experience:

              Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree preferred.

              3-5 years of experience in a B2B business development or sales role in a food manufacturing environment.

              3-5 years of Private Label or co-manufacturing sales experience in consumer-packaged goods industry

              2 years of experience in business development or sales role with a multimillion-dollar customer preferred.
