POSITION SUMMARY

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the guidance of the Executive Director, the Business and Development Coordinator will act as liaison to Y Shared Services Finance Department and the Executive Director with regard to financial transactions and ensure that all business procedures are followed for the organization.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Business and Development Coordinator is expected to fulfill the following functions: 

  • Be a point of contact for Y Shared Services Finance Department to provide any needed updates and assistance
  • Processing daily deposits, including preparing deposit bags, completing bank runs, and generating manual check entry and reconciliation
  • Accounts Payable tasks such as invoice entry and vendor follow up
  • Financial Administrative tasks such as change requests and credit card management
  • Leading the annual Give Your Heart to a Child campaign
  • Contract Management
  • Staff Support including training on and assistance with GL coding, refund processing, and event support as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

● Ability to spend continuous hours in front of a computer. 

● Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position; including walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting. 

● Ability to work in a fast pace environment and switch tasks as new challenges and projects emerge

 

QUALIFICATIONS

1. At least 21 years of age. 

2. CPR, First Aid and Child Abuse Prevention training within 90 days of hire and biannually thereafter. 

3. Bachelor’s degree from four-year college OR have experience in a related field. 

4. Basic computer and mathematical skills for financial management. 

5. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community. 

6. Ability to solve practical problems and work through situations of varying gravity.

7. Knowledge of and expertise with computerized accounting systems and standard business software.
