Our new, state-of-the-art teaching and learning facilities, slated to open in early 2024 as part of the ongoing Campaign for Ridley, will continue to reshape the learning experience for future generations of Ridleians and uphold Ridley’s place as a global leader in education.
We are seeking candidates for a part-time Bus Driver position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Operate the bus in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life;
Follow all relevant legislation, policies and procedures;
Perform safety and maintenance checks of the bus pre-trip and post-trip;
Advise the Transportation Coordinator of any requirements for maintenance or repairs;
Pick up and deliver students as per a set schedule;
Ensure students are aware of rules and responsibilities as passengers;
Make note of any behavioural or disciplinary issues;
Other duties as assigned.
Meet the minimum age requirements to hold a school bus driver’s license in the province of Ontario;
Hold a class B license with Z endorsement;
Must hold a valid (non-probationary) driver’s license for Ontario;
Possess a very good driving record;
Must undergo pre-employment drug testing with satisfactory results and comply with our random drug check policy for student safety;
Must be safety-minded, courteous and able to demonstrate an appreciation of the importance of customer service;
Must enjoy driving and working with children;
