About the role

PBS Facility Service is seeking a Budget Analyst to join our finance team. You will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing the company's financial resources to support the delivery of exceptional facility services. You will be responsible for budget planning, monitoring, and financial analysis, contributing to the overall financial health and success of the organization. This role reports directly to the Controller and is integral to maintaining the company's financial stability and service quality. 

What you will do

Budget Planning: 

  • Collaborate with department heads and executives to develop and refine the annual budget, taking into account historical data, market trends, and company goals. 
  • Prepare comprehensive budget reports that outline income, expenses, and key financial metrics. 
  • Ability to work with multiple financial systems and the knowledge of transferring from system to system.  IE: Zoho – QuickBooks etc.  

Expense Analysis

  • Conduct detailed analysis of company expenses, identifying opportunities for cost control and optimization while maintaining service quality. 
  • Provide recommendations for cost-saving measures and efficiency improvements. 

Revenue Projections

  • Assess revenue streams and create forecasts based on existing contracts, potential new business opportunities, and market conditions. 
  • Monitor revenue performance and make adjustments as necessary. 

Budget Monitoring

  • Regularly track and analyze actual financial performance against the budget, identifying variances and discrepancies. 
  • Collaborate with department heads to address budgetary challenges and implement corrective actions. 

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare and present regular financial reports to senior management, highlighting key financial metrics, trends, and areas requiring attention. 
  • Provide insights and recommendations for financial decisions and strategy. 

Strategic Planning

  • Contribute to long-term financial planning by offering insights into the company's financial health and goals. 
  • Participate in strategic discussions and assist in developing financial strategies aligned with the company's vision. 

Risk Assessment

  • Identify financial risks that the company may face and develop strategies to mitigate these risks. 
  • Stay informed about industry and regulatory changes that may impact financial planning. 

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure that all financial practices and budgeting processes comply with relevant laws and regulations. 
  • Keep abreast of changes in financial regulations that may affect the company's operations. 

What it takes to be successful: 

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field; a CPA certification is a plus. 
  • Proven experience as a Budget Analyst or similar financial role, preferably in a service-oriented industry. 
  • Strong understanding of financial analysis, budget planning, and forecasting. 
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools, including Excel and financial modeling. 
  • Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail. 
  • Effective communication and presentation abilities to convey complex financial information. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to strategic discussions. 
  • Dedication to maintaining the highest standards of financial integrity and compliance.
