The BRAVO Team manages some of the park’s most interactive and smile-inducing areas—including kangaroos, birds, reptiles, small mammals, goats/alpacas and primates like lemurs and sakis. From the Children’s Zoo to education ambassadors, they balance expert care with high-energy guest engagement every single day.

What You'll Do 
  • Provide strong Leadership, Management, and Accountability (LMA) to your team, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and growth.
  • Create and manage team schedules to ensure smooth daily operations and proper animal coverage.
  • Oversee the wellness, training, enrichment, health care, and daily husbandry of the animals in your department, ensuring all related documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Collaborate across departments to support the ongoing development of your team, animal programs, and park-wide initiatives.
  • Manage and implement diet changes, communicating with the Nutrition and Vet teams as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and proactive supply lists to ensure your area is well-stocked and prepared.
  • Coordinate closely with the veterinary team to monitor animal health, schedule exams or procedures, communicate updates, and support medical care as needed. 
  • Step in for routine coverage when needed to support your team and ensure consistent animal care.
What You Bring
  • Minimum of 3 years paid experience in the zoological field
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with animal species listed in department description
  • Excellent public speaking and customer service skills
  • Desire to grow as a team member, animal keeper, and human being
  • Ability to stand or walk and be able to perform physical work outside in all weather conditions
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and lift 50-75 pounds when necessary
  • Ability to work long hours, weekend, weekdays, holidays, and everyday
