General Summary
The Branch Manager provides exceptional sales and service experience to our membership. Manages and is accountable for the sales and service performance of their branch. Builds, trains, and coaches a winning sales team. Plans, organizes, directs, and controls all aspects of branch operations. Creates a positive branch sales and service culture and collaborates with other departments to achieve company goals. Ensures outstanding member service, compliance with all policies and procedures, and meets all branch sales goals and objectives. Develops and participates in community events, member service workshops, and Preferred Business Partner visits. Fosters a positive and engaging work environment for each team member by promoting skill development, coaching for improvement and growth, inspiring others through communication and actions, and ensuring positive employee morale. The Branch Manager must carry out the essential duties of this position in a manner that consistently demonstrates our mission, vision, and core values of the organization in a positive manner.
Tasks, Duties & Functions
- Lead, coach, develop and manage staff performance to meet all branch sales and service goals and objectives.
- Lead and coach staff on effective sales techniques to develop new member relationships and enhance existing relationships.
- Plan and organize branch outbound sales call efforts, make outbound calls, and participate in outbound call planning.
- Work with new market share businesses and sponsor companies to grow membership and loans.
- Manage the branch budget to ensure it is consistent with the overall strategic plan and budget if the credit union.
- Monitor office growth to include number of transactions, volume, teller errors, loan volume, and new accounts.
- Analyze and determine staffing needs and proper scheduling.
- Conduct employment interviews and select quality applicants for hire as necessary.
- Train, develop, direct, schedule, evaluate, and recommend monetary increases on all branch employees.
- Hold regular staff meetings to team build, strengthen job knowledge, and keep staff informed of credit union focus.
- Assist in branch operations as required, to include branch oversight of daily balancing and quality of work leaving the branch.
- Ensure the physical maintenance and appearance of the facilities are maintained.
- Work with management to develop, evaluate and implement procedures for member service operations.
- Manage the security and safety of the branch, staff, and member confidentiality.
- Participate in special and strategic project committees.
- Participate in Credit Union community-related activities and community service initiatives.

Knowledge & Skills
- Requires completion of high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years of progressively responsible management experience with a retail sales or financial institution.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance including bank secrecy and anti-money laundering laws appropriate to the position.
- Demonstrated ability to understand member related technology, software and operate standard office equipment to include Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Proven ability to meet/exceed branch and individual service and sales goals.
- Proven ability to motivate and hold employees accountable.
- Requires the ability to work a flexible schedule which may include possible evening or weekend hours based on branch needs.
- Knowledge of consumer lending, software applications, lending policies and credit granting criteria.
- Attention to detail, accuracy and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate mathematical skills required (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.).
- Must be bondable.
Working Conditions
- Works in a well-lighted and ventilated office setting.
- Sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and navigating stairwells required during working hours.
