Temporary Bookkeeper (8–10 Week Assignment)
MCV Law is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to provide full‑time, temporary coverage during a planned medical leave. This position will support the Director of Operations in managing day‑to‑day accounting and operational functions in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented law firm.
Assignment Details
- Duration: Approximately June 15 through August 14 (6–8 weeks)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
- Location: In‑office, Syracuse, NY
Key Responsibilities
- Entering and reconciling daily deposits
- Client billing and payment posting
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable
- General ledger maintenance and journal entries
- Bank and account reconciliations
- Payroll support
- Purchasing and vendor management
- Assisting the Director of Operations with routine operational and financial functions
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Accounting or Business or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a service‑related or professional services environment; law firm experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
- Strong technical aptitude; advanced IT skills a plus
- HR or payroll‑related experience is preferred but not required
- High attention to detail and discretion with confidential information
