GENERAL OVERVIEW
Founded in 1889, Ridley College is a co-educational boarding and day school with over 700 students in JK to grade 12 from more than 50 countries worldwide. Ridley College is located on 90 acres in St. Catharines, Ontario in the heart of the Niagara Peninsula and is comprised of a stunning blend of century old buildings housing modernized technology.
Summer of 2025 promises to provide a unique experience for every student as Ridley is offering a host of innovative day opportunities for local and international students.
We have opportunities for Boarding Counsellors to supervise the campers in the boarding houses. You will be provided with on campus housing and meals for the duration of the assignment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Monitor and supervise the well-being of the campers during their free time, and actively participate in all aspects of programming with the campers;
· Assist with the organization and supervision of evening and weekend excursions and activities;
· Maintain attendance lists and engage in spot checks at night;
· Supervise study time and assist students with homework as required;
· Supervise meals in the dining hall;
· Follow protocol for disciplinary action when necessary;
· Communicate with the supervisor regularly regarding student behaviour in the boarding house;
· Follow emergency procedures during medical emergencies and conduct fire drills at pre-determined intervals;
· Maintain a safe environment at all times;
· Supervise the airport arrivals and departures of students
· Other duties as required;
· Mandatory participation in Ridley Standard First Aid and CPR/AED training if not already certified;
· Mandatory attendance and participation in training sessions.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Post-secondary education or equivalent;
· Able to engage with children in a boarding environment;
· Strong communication skills;
· Team oriented;
· Second language is considered an asset;
· Energetic, enthusiastic and creative;
· Experience in boarding life an asset;
