JOB TITLE:  Blending Supervisor – 1st shift                                                                      

ACCOUNTABILITY: Reports to Assistant Production Manager

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for organizing flow of work within the Blending Department, ensuring on time completion of orders, under the direction of the Production Manager.

 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Specific duties include:

            .  requisitions material required to meet production goals: orders supplies for the team as needed

            .  examines items produced to determine if items meet specifications

            .  establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules

            .  recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and

                quality of product

            .  maintains time and production records

            .  suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency

            .  responsible for ensuring production downtime is either minimized or eliminated

            .  perform activities of workers supervised

            .  identifies training needs of those supervised

            .  responsible for team metrics and meetings

            .  participates and leads plant improvement activities

            .  monitor production output versus standard and provide daily feedback to operators

SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Ability to assist in directing the activities of employees within department, must be a team player with the ability to develop and maintain a team environment.  High School diploma or general education degree (GED); Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must have ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals and have ability to speak effectively to his/her departmental employees. Must have working knowledge of basic computer skills.  Ability to drive fork truck with certification. The employee must lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.

Positive attitude and willingness to jump in when and where needed. Safety and Quality focused, identifies risks and corrects. Excellent people skills, able to provide direction and clearly articulate expectations to a team of 9 to achieve the maximum quality output for the shift. Provides positive reinforcement and accountability as needed for team members in all areas of operation. Develops staffing plans based on manpower and sets daily and weekly goals for the team.

 Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with complex mixing system. Experience with ERP systems and investigating operations issues. 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:  Noise level – mid range., regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.  Required to wear PPE.
