Blaster

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Blaster to join one of our clients in preparing commercial trucks for painting. This is in the Lafayette, GA area . As a media blaster, you will be responsible for cleaning, stripping, and preparing surfaces by using abrasive blasting techniques, ensuring that the trucks are free of any rust, paint, or contaminants before they receive a fresh coat of paint. 

Key Responsibilities:

·         Follow all safety guidelines, including wearing protective gear (respirators, gloves, etc.), and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

·         Work closely with the painting team to ensure the trucks are properly prepped for painting and meet quality standards.

·         Use abrasive blasting equipment to prepare the surfaces of commercial trucks by removing old paint, rust, contaminants, and other imperfections.

·         Operate and maintain media blasting equipment, ensuring that all equipment is in good working condition.

Qualifications & Skills:

·         Familiarity with different types of abrasive materials (sand, soda, garnet, etc.) and their appropriate uses for various surfaces.

·         Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy materials, and work in physically demanding environments.

·         Strong attention to detail to ensure that all surfaces are thoroughly prepped and free of imperfections.

·         Understanding of safety protocols and best practices related to blasting operations and handling hazardous materials.
