JOB DUTIES, MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (MONTH/YEARS EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, SPECIAL LICENSE, ETC):
SUMMARY:
Professional Experience
Preferably 6 months of experience in food and barista service
Essential Functions
Be flexible and willing to perform other tasks as necessary or requested
Wear hotel uniform in compliance with hotel standards; adhere to professional grooming standards
Respond to guest requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner
Ensure knowledge of menu, promotions, and specials
Take guest food and/or beverage orders and input orders in appropriate point-of-sale system
Preparing food, grinding coffee beans, brewing tea and coffee, and serving items to customers
Ensure guest satisfaction throughout the service
Learning new brew methods, beverage blends, food preparations, and presentation techniques to improve food quality.
Updating signage and displays to attract customers.
Taking inventory and replenishing items as needed.
Ensure the serving station is well-stocked & clean, at all times
Perform other tasks as necessary or required to meet or exceed guest satisfaction
Be flexible and willing to perform other tasks as necessary or requested
Job Requirements:
Must have excellent customer service skills and a stable work history
Must be able to work entire shift on feet at a quick pace
Must be flexible to work any shift as needed including weekends
Knowledge of basic drink recipes
Knowledge of barista equipment
Knowledge of safety rules for kitchen equipment
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Ability to work in a fast-paced and hot environment
Stand and walk for long periods of time
Emotional Intelligence
Emotionally competent; able to effectively manage disruptive emotions and impulses; able to stay composed, positive, and unflappable even in trying moments while thinking clearly and remaining focused under pressure
Ability to anticipate guests’ needs
Embraces and respects diversity and multicultural environment
Education
Background screening for previous criminal history
At least a high school diploma or G.E.D.
Computer Experience
Experience with point of sale system
