Bilingual Regional Sales Manager - Quebec & Small Markets

Role Description 

The Quebec & Small Market Regional Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing and driving commercial activity within the province of Quebec and Canada’s smaller, less-penetrated cannabis retail markets. This includes managing nurturing provincial distributor relationships, key accounts, executing impactful product listings and promotional strategies, and maximizing growth within smaller but high-opportunity provinces. This role blends provincial board (eg. SQDC) leadership, and key account management with regional oversight to ensure efficient resource allocation and strong brand representation across all regions under their purview. 

The position reports directly to the Director of Sales – East and collaborates cross-functionally with Marketing, Commercial Strategy, and Sales Leadership to execute go-to-market plans and deliver exceptional results in both high-touch and distributor-led markets. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Market Development & Distributor Management 

  • Act as the lead sales contact for Quebec and small provincial boards (e.g., SK, MB, NB, PEI, NS, NWT, YK,  NL). 

  • Build strong relationships with category managers, distributor contacts, and key provincial board contacts to unlock new opportunities. 

  • Manage the product submission cycle across provinces, ensuring alignment with commercial strategy and business priorities. 

  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop compelling, data-driven product submissions. 

 

Sales Execution & Retail Engagement 

  • Build and maintain a strong relationship with the SQDC Commercial team to deliver provincial specific portfolio objectives and drive profitable growth. 

  • Regularly conduct in person retail visits and sales calls in owned territories (where applicable) 

  • Execute quarterly retail programs and provincial campaigns, collaborating with the Commercial teams. 

  • Maintain regular touchpoints with provincial and distributor teams to review progress, align on priorities, and address executional challenges. 

  • Manage and track spend in line with allocated budgets to ensure ROI on initiatives. 

  • Attend tradeshows and conferences as a representative of the company, as required. 

 

Strategic Insight & Reporting 

  • Monitor and analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activity to identify commercial opportunities. 

  • Regularly report on results, challenges, and progress across markets and retail partners. 

  • Lead internal alignment meetings to ensure consistent messaging and execution across functions. 

 

Quantitative KPIs 

  • Deliver planned sales, growth, and profitability targets by province and account 

  • Achieve national and regional distribution goals (points of distribution) 

  • Monitor and improve product performance and brand share across focus markets 

  • Submit accurate and timely provincial submissions (SKUs, timelines, data) 

  • Maintain budget adherence and evaluate ROI of trade and retail programs 

  • Track and communicate progress & challenges across relevant boards and key accounts 

 

Requirements 

  • Residence in Montreal is preferred, although other locations in QC will be considered 

  • Fluency in French and English (written and spoken) is required 

  • Minimum 2 years in sales or account management, preferably in cannabis or CPG 

  • Experience managing or selling into provincial boards or with distributors is an asset 

  • Strong understanding of regional retail dynamics in Quebec and small provinces 

  • Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional relationships and drive execution 

  • Strong analytical and communication skills 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM tools 

  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel across Canada (including overnight travel) 

  • Expected travel ~25% of time
